Vinyl acetate is an important organic chemical raw material and is one of the 50 most produced chemical products in the world. Through its own polymerisation or copolymerisation with other monomers, vinyl acetate is mainly used to produce derivatives such as polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsions (VAE) or copolymer resins (EVA), vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymers (EVC) and acetal resins. These derivatives have a wide range of uses and can be used as adhesives, paper or fabric sizing agents, coatings, inks, leather processing, fibre processing, emulsifiers, water-soluble films, soil conditioners and so on. With the progress of science and technology, new applications are being developed.
